Just when I thought living on an island couldn’t get any more picturesque… enter the Mini Moke.

I felt like I was on vacation when I got to drive a Moke for the day thanks to Moke Anguilla. An aesthete’s dream, their fleet offers a variety of tropical pops of colour for your palate (see @mokeanguilla on Instagram for more).

The first order of business when you rent your Moke is to figure out where exactly you should go. All the must-see spots in Anguilla are even more fun in a Moke. I was able to appreciate the island anew; I saw things I never noticed before because the open design of this unique vehicle gets you even closer to the scenery and culture. My spin around the island included stops at The Arch, The Little Pink House, drinks on Meads Bay, lunch in Sandy Ground, and a drive through historic South Valley. An enhanced experience of Anguilla is found when you are driving around with the sun on your face and the wind blowing your hair.

When I met Anguilla

As we turned into the old Sonesta, he gave a theatrical wave toward open and spacious Rendezvous Bay. Its plush white sand and unbelievable turquoise water sparkled in the late-afternoon sun. ‘Now you know,’ he said. Which I always have taken to
