Incredible ocean views, a beach and a pool and fabulous, flexible accommodations – welcome to Limin’ da Coconut.

Simply Spectacular

I said wow, when I got my first glimpse of the ocean, through the pretty internal courtyard at Limin’ da Coconut. Then kept saying it as I moved further into the house – because those spectacular views just kept on coming.

This lovely villa sits on one of the most picturesque promontories in all of Anguilla, with 180-degree views of Anguilla’s colourful coral coastline and across the ocean to St Martin, Tintamarre and St Barth’s.

The careful design ‘frames’ different aspects of that spectacular view and provides a gallery of natural art as you explore the different levels of the house.

Go with the flow

As you push open Limin’s impressive antique wooden doors and enter the lofty entrance hall with its light apertures and signature chandelier you get an immediate feeling of space, grandeur and, interestingly, history despite the buildings modern silhouette.

Architectural elements like the sweeping staircases, tower lookout, tranquil palm tree filled courtyard and dark wood sliding doors made me imagine I was in a small oceanfront castle.

The design tempts you towards the spectacular communal lounge/living area, urging you on with tantalising glimpses of the ocean.

These entertaining spaces, with their ocean themed, straw hat strewn décor are so beautiful and welcoming you just want to sit down and soak in the view.

But the ocean summons and it’s siren call pulls you down to the pool deck and along the path to the beach, in one continuous flow.

Luxury surrounds you

The interiors and décor, amenities and attention to detail are of course excellent. But, for me, the ambiance, created by the exceptional indoor-outdoor balance, is what makes Limin’ da Coconut truly special.

Relaxing indoors but It feels like outdoors.

Sounds of the sea, gleaming sunlight and trade breezes permeate all the rooms.

At night I opened my bedroom window as wide as possible, turned off the A/C and fell asleep meditating to the music of the waves.

My group loved to congregate in the communal spaces. Indoors, around the massive dining table – a spectacular statement piece – or in one of the two comfy lounging areas.

Outdoors, we spent most of our time in or lounging around the stylish pool.

For water babies

The ultimate luxury at Liming da Coconut is the ability to choose to be in the ocean or by the pool.

I love the water in all forms and to be able to swim or snorkel in the Caribbean Sea will never lose its charm. Neither will the opportunity to beach comb, explore rock pools or sit on the white sand and watch the waves.

After my ocean fix I could shower off the sand and relax on a lounger by the pool or on a floaty IN the pool. Usually with a cool drink or two.

The villa has plenty of pool accessories

The villas beach AND pool works brilliantly for groups – delighting those that love a chilled pool vibe whilst keeping the mermaid and mermen amongst us happy.

Rooms with views

Tish and I experienced the villa with a bunch of girlfriends, and can’t imagine a better place to reconnect, rewind and have fun.

In a previous life Limin da Coconut was called Las EsQuinas – a boutique Bed and Breakfast that garnered rave reviews. This historical note is important because all the bedroom suites were designed to give each guest equal comfort and privacy.

One of the bedrooms fabulous balconies

The 4 larger bedroom suites have their own balcony with incredible ocean views, as well as their own special spot in the grounds for sunbathing and relaxing. Each room has a/c if you wish, sea breeze if you prefer, and capacious bathrooms with double vanities.

This villa is the perfect pick for a group of 4 couples or a gaggle of gorgeous boys or gals’ looking for a luxury getaway without anyone getting the ‘bad’ room.

Girls just wanna have fun at Limin’ da Coconut

Limin’ da Coconut is situated in a great neighbourhood – the desirable residential area of Little Harbour. The villa has privacy from, but is adjacent to, a number of fabulous private homes and luxury villas.

Family time

Although we were a group of single (for the stay) ladies Limin’ da Coconut is also extremely popular with family groups.

In addition to the 4 master suites there is a comfortable twin room, perfect for children or teenagers, as well as  a fantastic little apartment with its own bathroom and kitchenette.

Michelle Owen Vasilis, the Property Manager explained that the apartment is often used for a nanny or chef. Also for overflow guests (it’s extremely comfortable it just doesn’t have the fabulous views of the other suites).

The visitor book details ecstatic reviews from some young guests who loved the layout of the property (castle!), with its tower, courtyard, garden hammocks, beach paths and hide and seek spots. The highlight of their trip was when when they spotted whales passing by!

Safe certified for this season

Limin’ da Coconut is open to overseas visitors from 1st November 2020 and I can promise you, has everything you need for an inclusive stay.

If you want to get a healthy dose of Vitamin Sea and escape Covid this winter, this is the picture perfect place to be.

Spectacular with a soupçon of silly

There was a contradiction at the heart of my stay at Limin’ da Coconut – a good one.

The property is undoubtedly luxurious, magnificent, spectacular – all those superlatives – but it’s also incredibly warm and welcoming. We all felt at home there.

When I heard the name Limin’ da Coconut I didn’t know what to think. The name was fun but was it the perfect fit for such a luxurious property? I wasn’t sure.

The Harry Nilsson song that inspired the owners

But after staying there I get it. I really do.

To paraphrase the silly but terribly catchy song – a song that made the owners laugh and took them back to the Caribbean when they heard it …
‘well woo–ain’t there nothin’ I can take?
I say woo–woo, to relieve that Corona ache
Woo-woo if there is nothing you can take…I’ll tell you what to do
Go to Liming da Coconut…’

I say woo-woo too.

About the owners

Christina and Iver came to Anguilla for their honeymoon and fell in love with this amazing country and her people! They continued to return annually before they decided to buy Liming Da Coconut in 2018, because they couldn’t think of anywhere else, they would rather be.

When I asked them why they chose this specific property they said,

“because…well, once you come and stay, you’ll understand why. When people come to visit and when agents have walked into our villa, they have all uttered the same word to describe it…”Spectacular”. And it is!”
