DJ Yooshe is quite possibly the perfectly blended cocktail for your event! A charismatic and talented deejay with a huge knowledge in many musical genres.
Starting in his young teens, the Bronx NY native began his career as a deejay carrying crates for noted Jamaican born- Bronx deejay squad King Black Virgo Sound and Intrepid Sounds. Late nights on the weekends in legendary New York City basement and block parties intrigued the young deejay and he became even more enamored with the craft. His new love affair with the turntables eventually led to him to become an MC with his jr. high’s most popular deejay squad High Frequency.
After high school, he added the tag line “the Mammoth” to his already growing personal brand DJ Yooshe. Mammoth of course reflecting the massive knowledge base he possesses across genres. He attributes this to his blended upbringing.
“Both my parents are from a small island in the Caribbean called Anguilla. Although Anguilla is an English-speaking island, it is wedged between Dutch, French and Spanish speaking territories. Therefore I experienced music from a plethora of cultures, genres and languages.”
As he became seasoned on the New York City scene, Dj Yooshe became one of the most sought-after deejays throughout the city’s five boroughs. His technical skill and obvious showmanship ushered him into clubs and live events and eventually landed him a two-year contract as on-air talent for the popular Bronx based Royal Radio.
In 2007 Dj Yooshe took a gamble and moved to his parents homeland, Anguilla. The luxe property filled island is a hot vacation spot for some of the world’s wealthiest and a virtual hotbed for celebrity sightings.
With his big city experience and knowledge of Caribbean music, he swiftly made a name for himself on the local scene and his abilities caught the radar of the island’s top hotels including Viceroy Anguilla (Now the Four Seasons) and Cap Juluca.
His ability to transition fluidly between the local dancehall, zouk and soca loving crowd and the EDM, pop and top 40 jammers at the resorts is something rarely ever seen.
He has been a featured deejay for concerts throughout the region, playing on stage with Caribbean legends such as Third World, Alison Hinds, Serani; and Sizzla.
He has performed for scores of A-list celebrities including Simon Cowel, Angela Basset, Ace Hood, Ryan Leslie, Kevin Hart, Ludacris, Justin Bieber, NBA, NFL and MBL player Juwan Howard and Dwayne Wade to name a few.
When he is not making the rounds at private villas and resorts in Anguilla, DJ Yooshe travels to feature at parties and nightclubs on other Caribbean islands and in the USA. He is also the voice of Anguilla’s most popular afternoon drive radio show “The Mammoth Effect” on Klass FM. The show is also streamed live on the Internet.
